Ponting also told that it has been a very emotional day for him and he got too emotional while sharing his retirement thoughts with his team mates in the dressing room.Michael Clarke had tears in his eyes, while speaking about Ponting's retirement in the press conference.

Ponting is one of the best cricketer in the world and an acrobatic fielder too.He has taken some amazing catches and made some astounding run outs.Ponting was one of the batsmen who was considered to break Sachin's record for most centuries in Test, but his long lean patch had spoiled all the hopes.

Ponting is also know for his aggressive and adamant character. His captaincy during Sydney Test against India was one of the worst time in his cricketing career. He was criticized by the former cricketers for his wrong attitude and unsporty behaviour.

Ponting has played cricket for 20 years and has entertained people with his amazing cricketing skills.Though there has been much ups and downs in his career, Ponting is one the greatest cricketer this era has produced and cricket world will miss him for sure.
