Hurray !!! Got the world cup ticket for the ICC World Cup 2011 match between India and West Indies.The sales of world cup tickets was started at the Chepauk Stadium on Feb 2nd 2011.I got up in the early morning 5 AM and reached the stadium by 5:30 AM.
The queue for the 500 hundred rupees ticket was huge and they were waiting at the stadium from yesterday night to get the tickets.I went and stood in the thousand rupees queue to get the A,B,C upper stand ticket.Before me there were only 170 persons in the queue.
Around 7 :40 AM the,a huge sound was heard.A wall had collapsed and two people were injured .Immediately Ambulance came and they were taken to the hospital.The wall was a single brick layer wall and it got collapsed because of the queue for 500 rupees ticket.
They started issuing the ticket by 10 AM only that too they dint sell the A,B,C Upper Tier Tickets,instead they were selling the D,E,F Lower Tier Tickets in two counters.People protested to give A,B,C stand tickets but the authorities refused.At 10:40.
They closed the counter and said all 1000 rupees ticket were sold out.Then myself and my friends ran up and stood in the queue for 2000 thousand rupees ticket and fortunately we got them.It was one 'o clock when we got the tickets.
If they are not selling tickets for some of the stands, then why should they put in the newspaper that they are issuing particular tickets at this particular counter ?All the cricket fans were disappointed that they couldn't get the tickets which they wished to get.Also they have put in Newspapers that all major credit cards would be accepted.They did not sell tickets for credit cards at all .The association is cheating the public people and no media is rising questions about that because they would not get tickets for the match .
