CSK REGISTERS FIRST VICTORY IN PEPSI IPL 2014 AGAINST DD

Chennai Super Kings(CSK) started the Pepsi IPL 2014 with the loss against the Kings XI Punjab, though they scored more than 200 runs in the allotted slot of 20 overs. It was the 'magic man' Maxwell who produced a magnificent knock to take the King XI Punjab home.

Today it was the second match for the CSK and was against the Dooubbble D's as Danny Morrison says :P . CSK were looking little vulnerable as their bowling attack was under scanner. Dhoni went in with more than couple of changes in the team due to injuries and to try different combination as well. Ben Hilfenhaus in for Ashish Nehra , Ishwar Pandey in for Pawan Negi , Mithun Manahas in for Bravo.Bravo is expected to be out of the tournament for almost 5 weeks.Bravo's injury is a big blow for the men in yellow.

CSK won the toss and elected to bat. They had a pretty normal start and Brendon McCullum who was expected to fire on all cylinders was out for just 9 runs. With Raina coming after the McCullum's wicket, CSK steadied the ship along with Dwayne Smith who was out in the 11th over and CSK were 77/2 at the end of 11th over.

Raina scored a superb half century.Dhoni and Faf du Plessis chipped in with useful runs which took Chennai Super Kings to a total of 177 runs.

CSK opened the bowling with Ishwar Pandey and he looked impressive with the ball. Murali Vijay looked in a good touch with the bat and was middling the ball.Mayank Agarwal tried an ambitious shot and got out to Ishwar Pandey's ball with Raina taking a fantastic catch in the covers.

In the 4th over Du Plessis competed with Raina and took an amazing catch by running backwards. It was an absolute stunner. Again it was Du Plessis who pulled off another stunner to dismiss Manoj Tiwary for a duck and it was the 2nd wicket for Ishwar pandey.

After that the Double D's (Delhi Daredevils) fell like a pile of cards. Jimmy Neesham and the skipper Dinesh Karthick(DK) were the lonely batters to score more than 20 runs. Delhi were allout for 84 in 15.4 overs. It wasn't the CSK's bowling or batting that fetched this victory rather it was CSK's fielding.

With this, CSK registered their first win the Pepsi IPL 2014 and the run rate was more than 2 which could play a crucial role in the future matches to come. Chennai Super Kings ku whistle podu !! :)
